2009 Windermere Cup Poster
Eastern Washington Artist Commissioned to Illustrate and Design Event Poster
PULLMAN, Wash.—April 14, 2009—Eastern Washington Artist and Illustrator, Kary Lee, recently completed the event illustration and poster design promoting the University of Washington’s 2009 Windermere Cup sponsored by Windermere Services Company. The event takes place on opening day of boating season,
May 2, 2009, at the Montlake Cut in Seattle, Washington.
The poster image is featured in the April issue of Seattle Metropolitan Magazine. Additionally, it is being used in Windermere Services marketing materials for their company’s real estate professionals throughout Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
ABOUT KARY LEE – A resident of Pullman, Lee graduated from Washington State University with a degree in Communications. She began her career as an art director in Dallas, Texas. While graphics and marketing paid the bills, illustration has always been her true passion. Lee finds it incredibly rewarding. “It’s about more than creating an interesting image,”she says. “I consider myself a problem solver. I work with clients to define their project’s goal. I ask lots of questions. I want to create an image specific to their needs. One that will inspire a viewer to connect with their message.” Lee’s work includes corporate and personal illustrations. Lee has illustrated five children’s books. Her most recent book, Dizzy (Stonehorse, June 2007), received the 2008 Mom’s Choice Award for Children’s Picture Book Adventure. Her watercolors hang in public venues and private residences throughout the West Coast. Lee’s work is currently available at Pullman Gallery and Studios in Pullman, Washington.
